he Château is situated in the heart of the village of Malviès, a small semi-circular village built on the South slope of the Malepère massif.
It was built in the XVIIIème century on the site of a roman town. A large plot of vines still carries the name today "LES VILLAS " & it is not unusual to discover a piece of amphora, a coin, arrowheads (digging, scanning etc. is forbidden).
The residence is of the Directoire period, with its peristyle facing South towards the Pyrénées, & has been in the same family for six generations.

he Vineyard
The vines that border the château stretch out on the sunny, chalky & sandy hillsides. The grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Cot are the majority of the vines used in the Appellation. The white grape Sauvignon is used in the production of the vin de pays.

he Chateau wines
They are produced & aged in the domaine vats.
Château Malviès Guilhem, Rosé
This rosé, tinted a light brick colour, is well balanced & has a very floral perfume.

Château Malviès Guilhem, Rouge
This traditional wine is produced from a mixture of Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc & Sauvignon (30%), Cot (10%), is fruity & is recommended to be drunk with cold meats, white meats.

Château Guilhem, Cuvée élevée en fûts de chêne (aged in oak)
The age of the wine, plus the ageing in oak, give this wine a dark colour, ripe fruit aromas, hints of vanilla & roasted coffee. A powerful & rounded wine, this makes the ideal companion to cassoulet, game dishes etc…
